How these pages are researched and written
Sewer problems are stressful and the advice online is uneven. This page explains where our information comes from, what we will and will not publish, and how mistakes are corrected.
Where the information comes from
Pages are written from public sources: U.S. EPA material on sewer overflows and the consent decrees covering Atlanta and DeKalb County, Georgia 811's published guidance on locating utilities, public health guidance on sewage exposure, and established reference material on pipe materials and repair methods. Neighborhood pages draw on documented histories of each area's development and historic district listings.
Each factual claim that depends on a source is marked with a number that links to that source at the foot of the page. Everything is written in our own words; we do not copy text from sources or from other websites.
What we will and won't publish
- We willExplain symptoms, causes, safe checks, repair methods and local conditions, and say clearly when something needs a professional.
- We willName only neighborhoods within the contractor network's current coverage.
- We won'tPublish job quotes, invented reviews or ratings, response-time promises, or claims about licenses, insurance or guarantees we cannot verify.
- We won'tImply that this site performs the work. Calls are connected to independent contractors.
Review dates and corrections
Pages are reviewed against their sources when they are published and when we learn that something has changed. If you spot an error, call the number on this site and tell us which page and what you think is wrong; we will check it against the sources and correct it if needed.
Independence and the referral model
This site may receive compensation when calls are connected to contractors. That does not affect what the pages say about methods or when a repair is or is not needed. The guides are written to help you ask better questions of whoever inspects your line, including the contractor you are connected with.
